Paget’s Produce and Spye Park CC – In from the fields and onto the Spye outfield!

Spye Park Cricket Club is delighted to announce Paget’s Produce as the main sponsor for our Bromham and Chittoe based club, ready for the start of the club’s 141st Season.

Spye Park CC’s Chairman Jon Bathe (64), who announced the 2-year deal with the Bromham trade vegetable grower, said Spye Park and the Paget’s go back decades if not centuries! At the launch of the new 2023 cricket apparel, he said we are very proud to be wearing the Gold and Green Paget’s Produce logo on our snazzy new kit. This is a fantastic boost to our historic club and provides real impetus towards a successful season, with the 1st team aiming for promotion and ultimate goal of returning to the top Wiltshire leagues.

Vice Chairman Tom Mornement echoed Jon’s sentiments and personally thanked Tim & Tom Paget for pushing the generous deal over the line.

Tom with tongue in cheek added, that our ‘bean counter’, or treasurer as he prefers to be known, is delighted with the deal. He said that after some difficult seasons a few years ago, Spye is now a club that has ‘risen from the ground’. We have tremendous ‘roots’ and now we are actively looking for a ‘growth’ in player numbers.

Any players are welcome, and we would particularly love a new fast bowler who can ‘plough’ away from one end, some specialist ‘fielders’, and a batsman who can ‘harvest’ the bowling attacks.

Winning games of cricket is what it is all about and I am confident the existing ‘crop’ of Spye batsmen will ‘dig out’ some big scores to give us every chance.

He went on to say that playing cricket and membership at Spye Park is ‘dirt cheap’ and encouraged potential new players to get in touch. We are very friendly and social club; our ‘roots’ are firmly ‘planted’ in the heart of the local community; we look after our players and ensure they are always ‘fed and
